Backyardigans Safari Party!

On Saturday we celebrated Jase's 4th birthday at the park with family and friends.  Since we are members of the Houston Zoo we were going to have his party there, but after hearing a couple parking nightmare stories I decided on a change of plans.  Since he really likes animals I wanted to keep them in the theme, but add something else.  Of course...Backyardigans!!! He goes in spurts with TV shows, but this has been a "go to" favorite show for some time now.  Probably since Christmas when Santa Claus threw Jase "Pablo" from the firetruck (the penguin character from the Backyardigans).  Since then we have ALL fell in love with the show.  And they do quite a bit of singing and dancing, so that is right up his alley.

 Before his party, he played a soccer game.  He had a ton of people at his game, including his favorite cousin Coby!! He was so excited to have everyone there.  Mommy and Allyson stayed at home since she was running a fever. :(

So these next few pictures are of a game the kids played.  I split them up into 4 teams, with an older child on each team to lead them.  Since we were having a safari party I asked what types of animals they would see on a safari...a ZEBRA!! So, their job was to decorate one team member like a zebra.  All the kids (and adults watching) had a blast!!

Jase had a great birthday party.  At one point while opening gifts Jase yelled out "this is the best bithday ever." That made the day! The wind was CRAZY and there was a chance of rain, but that did not stop us from having an awesome day celebrating 4 fantastic years with Jase. So blessed.
