Better to Give

Tuesday morning we met our Classical Conversation group at Vision Ministries in Denton. They only have 2 full time employees and the rest are volunteers. Vision Ministries is a ministry of our church, Denton Bible Church. They are a non-profit organization that gives clothing and food to those in need. Our CC Director decided to do this in lieu of a traditional Christmas party.
Ally's age and down stayed in the clothing section and we helped sort through donations and straighten up their existing inventory. It was a great way to get the kids involved in giving of their time.
While the littles sorted clothes, the older kids worked in the food pantry section and organized donations. All of the kids really enjoyed working together and giving their time.
Tuesday evening I attended our Ladies Christmas Fellowship at Denton Bible Church. It was really nice to get out and visit with other ladies. I stay at home so much and while I love my kiddos to no end, it is nice to get out every now and then and have some adult interaction. Just sayin'.

We sang Christmas carols, had a yummy dessert sampler plate, and listened to our new Women's Ministry Director. She spoke on the passage {Matthew 1-2 and Luke 1} of the bible where God chose Mary to be the mother of our Savior and how she worshipped Him through her submission. How Joseph worshipped God by being obedient. The wise men sacrificed their time, as it was roughly 600 miles to Jerusalem. True worship involves sacrifice. We worship things that have our heart. Definitely something to think about, especially during this Advent season. What has my heart?

This is me with Carrie. We met last year at dance. And let me be clear, Ally's dance class not mine. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her throughout the year and so glad it worked out for us to sit together and be in God's word together.
