Exit Strategy

Last night and this morning were very emotional.  Shawn and I attended the viewing for Addi.  She looked like a little princess with her big pink bow and holding Mr. G (her giraffe).  Today was the funeral and it was not any easier.  The slide show they put together, along with the songs were so touching.  The funeral was this morning at Clear Creek Community Church and the pastor did an amazing job.  He was so real about the situation and did not try and hide the fact that this is a hurting time for family and friends.  And while we were there in remembrance and celebration of Miss Addi, we also have HOPE in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  For whosoever shall call upon the name upon the Lord shall be saved.  Romans 10:13  Saved from darkness and depths of hell.  Thank you Jesus.  Please continue to join me in prayer for the Carpenter family.

While I was driving home from the funeral I heard a message on KSBJ from Max Lucado.  He told a story of a photographer that had planned a 3 month journey to Alaska in 1985 or 1986 I believe, to take pictures of the scenery and wildlife there.  He said that he had everything lined up: someone to drop him off there, his equipment, a map, etc.  Everything but a way to get home.  He said that through a journal the man had kept, they found out after about 3 weeks of being there he forgot to arrange for someone to pick him up at the end of his journey. He ended up freezing to death out in the cold.  He did not have an exit strategy.

Max went on to explain that while there may be things in our life that we do not do, do not forget to take care of your exit strategy; someone to pick you up once life here on earth is over.  God fulfilled this through His son, Jesus Christ, and if you put your trust and faith in Him, He is your Exit Strategy.  Jesus will be back to get you.  What an amazing message and how fitting after the funeral today.

Have you taken care of your Exit Strategy?
